Taking Breaks and overcoming Depression

Hi guys, I’m back! I had to take a much needed break to figure out what it is that I want to bring you guys. I am passionate about writing and find it very therapeutic. Lately, I’ve been feeling pretty low about life in general, I sense that I’ve developed some depression possibly and I know that it’s quite common in fact.

Since the pandemic, the rates for people suffering mental health problems have gone up. Just in general everything is becoming more stressful for local Vancouverites. The high price of real estate, the continued separation of families, and just feelings of loneliness are scattered all across BC and probably further I assume.

It’s exhausting somedays being a full-time mom with not much adult conversation each day. Sometimes those thoughts take over, and it’s so important to stay on top of our health, especially our mental health. There is an organization called BounceBack and they provide phone counseling for mild depression in 12 sessions. This could be helpful for me I’m sure.

I also talked to my doctor about that and was happily directed to a counselor, who also happened to open another door related to additional counseling through my First Nations health benefits. Pacific Blue Cross is also one of the providers of First Nations Health Benefits.

I have come to my breaking point with depression, I choose to not let it dictate my life. I choose to be free from it, find your inner healer. You got it!

Let me know how you’re feeling today?
